My name is Emily Manzik and I am currently a sophomore at High Point University in North Carolina. I am majoring in journalism with a focus on broadcast journalism and I plan to graduate in the Spring of 2015. I am from a little town called Hampstead in the beautiful state of New Hampshire (about 45 minutes North of Boston). Although I may be a small town girl, I have big dreams for my future. I would love to seem myself as a future news anchor working in Boston, MA.
I have always enjoyed writing; whether it is poems, short stories, or class essays, I love developing new ideas and putting those ideas into words. Aside from writing, I also have a passion for dance. I have been performing since I was three years old and it has helped me on so many levels. Being on stage taught me how to be confident in front of an audience and how to hold the attention of others.
I am grateful to be at this place in my life, learning useful information that I will carry with me into my career. However I am eager to get my name out there. I am hoping to earn an internship this upcoming Summer of 2013 at a local news station. My story has only begun, and I know that ultimately I decide where it ends.
